Pacific Air has a wide range of rangehood venting kits and rangehood ducting kits to suit most installations. All contain most of the components that you should require to effectively vent out your rangehood. Our kits have a number of innovative features, such as low profile duct ribbing (to maximise efficient air flow), a wall/ceiling ring that prevents drafts and dirt from entering the hole in the plaster, and modern, rust-free, galvanized steel roof cowl vents.
Why Vent Out My Range Hood?
Venting out your range hood has a huge number of benefits. Firstly there is a legislative requirement in Australia to vent out the kit externally to your premises under AS4386.2. Additionally, cooking odours are significantly reduced. Ducting out the air also removes smoke which reduces odour and removes a fire hazard. The kitchen is cleaner - as cooking oils tend to be present in the smoky air and land on walls, roof and other surfaces. Plus you don’t have the risk of setting your fire alarm off.
Our range hood flue kits are designed to clear the air and maintain a healthy and hygienic space. The ducting system that you choose to install can have a significant impact on the performance of your range hood. We bring to you a complete collection of range hood ducting kits that are easy to install and offer exceptional performance.
What Brand of Range Hood Do I Have?
Our range hood flue kits are compatible with most models from the major brands from Fisher & Paykel, Westinghouse, Robinhood, Euromaid, Smeg, Chef, Omega, Schweigen, Ilve, Gasmate, Electrolux, Sirius, Belling, Ariston, Asko, Baumatic, DeLonghi, and Blanco.
Which Kit Do I Need?
To determine what kit you need, first determine what diameter your range hood ducts to. Most are either 125mm or 150mm. Some very large residential and commercial range hoods are being released with 200mm diameter. * Secondly determine whether you plan to vent out via the roof or via a wall. The wall kits are the RWE125, RWE150 and RF125150. Thirdly, if you are venting out through the roof, select whether you have a tiled roof or a steel roof. The roof flashing is the only item that is different from wall and roof kits. The tiled roof kits are RT125 and RT150. The steel roof kits are RS125 and RS150.
The kits should contain all of the components that you require for most installations. However, you may require an additional length of duct and a duct connector if 3m is not sufficient for your installation. You may also like to replace your plastic wall vent with an aluminium weatherproof louvre for a more modern look to the outside of your home.
Kits comply with Australian Standards and are AS1668.1 compliant if installed correctly. All of our ducts has a 4 - zero fire rating to AS1530.3
Who Should Install My Kit?
We recommend getting your kit installed by a professional such as a roof plumber if you are not comfortable doing it yourself. Each kit includes instruction tips. However, note that every installation is different and it is difficult to be too specific for every situation.
What Type of Duct?
Most of our kits include aluminium semi rigid duct rather than aluminium foil duct (also called flex duct or nude duct). This is because semi rigid duct holds its shape better and allows for more efficient air ventilation. However foil duct is easier to install and is sometimes the only option in tight situations. Either type of duct can comply with Australian standards if installed correctly.
* We do not currently have a 200mm full kit in stock. However, if you wish to vent your 200mm range hood via a wall, just purchase 200mm Semi-Rigid Duct and a 200mm neck wall vent. Please contact us on 03 9758 7844 if you would like assistance with this.
